Micheal Jackson - his time is up..

Whatever you think of Michael Jackson one thing is certain - he made an impact  and left a legacy to others. I personally feel he brought a very mixed bag- of both positive and negative influences.  His life however is now over and at a young age - his time is out .  I think hearing of someones  premature death is always a stark reminder to take time-out to reflect upon the worth of our own lives and the impact/legacy we are leaving for others.  Time is the most precious commodity we have and it is worth serious thought as to what we are doing with it that is of real value. It is such a tragedy to just spend it ‘existing’ or as many people do - killing time. Our time should be used wisely and in a balanced fashion - both to enjoy and to give to something ‘bigger’ than ourselves. So my question really is -if your time were up would you be satisfied with WHO you were and WHAT you did/WHAT legacy you left to others? If your answer is NO - the good news is you still have time to change all that. My encouragement to you is DO something about it, today. Even starting with something tiny will set you on the road to growth and developing a life filled with value and worth.

INPUT equals OUTPUT

One thing to always do a regular review of when you are not getting the desired results in life is to analyse the Input you are allowing into your life. What/who are you listening to/watching? Does this build you up and empower/encourage you or does it do completly the opposite? We  largely become the product of the Input we receive. We receive this Input  primarily via the gateways of our eyes and ears which then forms the basis of our thoughts. Our thoughts laregly determine our beliefs (beliefs are repeated thoughts). Our beliefs determine our actions and consequently our actions determine our RESULTS (our Output). Therefore, to change our results it is necessary to go all the way back to the Input we allow into our lives.

Following those ‘inner nudges’

Today the view from my Highland home is even more visually stunning than normal and even the norm is pretty stunning! The hills and forests are covered in snow - LOTS of snow. I feel the ‘child’ in me coming out and I have decided to take a big chunk of the afternoon to let this ‘child’ come out to play despite the fact that I could easily fill my time with lots of other ‘more worthwhile’ things to do? I feel the inner nudge within me to ‘play’ . This is not the kind of  ‘I can’t be bothered so I’ll bunk off’ kind of nudge but one of those deep in the gut ‘knowings’ that right now that is what I need to top up on.

Being aware of these ‘inner nudges’ is really important and can really make the difference to your quality of life. Of course it is not just being aware of them but heeding them (appropriately)and following them through with action. So next time you get one - listen that little more intently and honour the advice. It  may just make you feel 100% better.
